SOMUT ŞİİR (CONCRETE POETRY)

Bir kitap sayfası olması gerekmeyen bir yüzey üzerinde, oldukça özgürce ya da katı biçimde düzenlenmiş kalıplarla hem görsel hem de sözel etki sağlayacak şekilde düzenlenmiş metinler. Bu fikir, 1956'da Sao Paulo'daki beton sanatı sergisinde bir grup Brezilyalı şair ve sanatçı tarafından resmi olarak ortaya atıldı, ancak kökleri çok daha geriye, Fransız şairler Mallarme ve Apollinaire'in çalışmalarına kadar uzanabilir.

Concrete poetry Texts arranged for visual as much as verbal effect, either quite freely or in strictly organized patterns, across a surface which need not be the page of a book. The idea was given a formal launching by a group of Brazilian poets and artists at the Sao Paulo exhibition of concrete art in 1956, but can be traced back much further, to the work of the French poets Mallarme and Apollinaire.
