GESTALT

Gestalt (Almanca 'yapılanma') Modern sanat eleştirisine psikolojiden ithal edilen bir terim. MaxWertheimer, Kurt Koffka ve Wolfgang Kohler tarafından kurulan Gestalt psikolojisi, parçaların bütün tarafından belirlendiğini ve estetik deneyim de dahil olmak üzere tüm deneyimlerin alt bölümlere ayrılamayan belirli temel yapılarla ilişkili olduğunu savunur. Gestalt eleştirisi empati fikrine karşıdır ve estetik ve duygusal nitelikleri sanat eserine yansıtmadığımızı, onları orada bizi beklerken bulduğumuzu savunur. Minimal sanatın savunucuları, izleyicinin en temel biçimlerde 'iyi bir Gestalt' bulduğunu iddia ediyor.

Gestaltcriticism is opposed to the idea ofempathy, andholds that we do not ourselves project aestheticand emotional qualities into the work of art, but find them there waiting for us. Defendersof minimal art claim that the spectator finds a 'good Gestalt' in the most primary forms.
