Section d'Or (Fr. 'Golden Section') A group of French Cubist painters who first exhibited together in 19 12, including Robert Delaunay, but not the two founders ofcubism, Picasso and Braque. The title was suggested by Jacques Villon, who took it from a i6th-c. treatise on the golden section (Divine Proportion), illustrated by Leonardo da Vmci.
