Başlıca iki üretim yöntemi basse lisse ve haute lisse'dir. İsmine rağmen Bayeux Goblen goblen değil, nakıştır.

Tapestry Hand-woven fabric, usually of silk or wool or a mixture of the two, with a nonrepetitive design, usually figurative, which is woven in as it is made. Among the numerous places associated with its manufacture from the 14th c. onwards are arras, Tournai and Brussels in the Low Countries, aubusson, beauvais and the gobelins (Paris) in France, and Fulham and Mortlake in England. The two chief methods of manufacture are basse lisse and haute lisse. Despite its name, the Bayeux Tapestry is not tapestry, but embroidery.
